I am an Engineer by education and training.  I am a businessman by experience derived from the responsibilities of profit and loss, project management, business development, sales and marketing. 

This business background with both large International Companies and small private companies has been hard won over 30 years.  I have been there and done it and that gives me a skill set suitable to assist the small business community in Yorkshire and the North East. My passion, which I have indulged for 30 years and draws on all my skills, is increasing sales imaginatively and profitably and at the same time improving the productivity of the manufacturing facility.  I understand high-tech because I worked in the Space industry; high volume because I worked in the Mobile Phone Industry; bespoke/small volume because I worked in the Defence & Avionics Industries; High unit-price items because I worked in Defence and Space Industries; low unit price items because I worked in the automotive industry.

I understand profit and loss, debt collection and cash-flow because I worked for Sir Arnold Weinstock.  I understand managing and motivating people because I have managed teams all over the world.  I understand product design and manufacturing from designing and supplying product to IBM, Nokia, Ericcson, Siemens, Bosch, Philips, BT, BAe, Motorola, AT &T and many others.

I know there are no magic bullets or wonder fixes and I don’t do jargon, three letter acronyms or reports.  In my book good business practice and the associated success stems from knowledge, experience, professionalism, structure, process, honesty, integrity and hard work.
